This is a full-time, remote position. This position can work from anywhere within the United States and will report directly to the VP of Business Development.
About the Role
We’re looking for a curious, self-motivated, and strategically minded Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will focus on building and converting pipelines through outbound sales strategy, proposal development, and cross-functional collaboration with both internal departments and external partners. You will work closely with Marketing to shape campaign strategies based on real-time insights, and partner with our Client Experience and Rosie Experience teams to bring the right solutions forward to clients.
This is an ideal role for someone who is hungry to grow in the business development space. You will be mentored by seasoned leaders, supported by collaborative teammates, and given opportunities to lead projects that drive business impact.
Prioritized Responsibilities
Lead and Qualify New Business Opportunities
- Qualify inbound leads and manage follow-ups in partnership with the VP of Business Development
- Support prospective client engagement through credentials presentations, discovery calls, Q&A sessions, and proposal conversations
- Maintain visibility into account activity and ensure pipeline movement is tracked across the BD team
- Identify high-value segments and decision-makers to drive focused outbound efforts
- Coordinate outbound prospecting strategy in alignment with Marketing’s lead magnet campaigns to ensure BD outreach, target lists, and messaging derive efficacy from campaign objectives and audience segmentation
- Translate prospect feedback and sales learnings into campaign themes, content topics, and outbound strategy adjustments
Develop and Deliver Proposals That Win
- Lead the full lifecycle of proposal development—from discovery and scoping through writing, packaging, and delivery
- Partner cross-functionally to create tailored capabilities decks, RFP responses, and custom pitch materials
- Build and maintain a central library of proposal assets and supporting content
- Source, curate, and present blinded talent from our network, vet viable applicants, and present leading candidates to our clients and prospects, always seeking to set both clients and Rosies up for success
- Handle Rosie onboarding and, when necessary, track Rosie hours compared to scope, and support off-boarding.
- Collaborate with Executive and Client Experience Leads, Opps, and Finance as needed on opportunity scoping, sample talent, and Rosie matchmaking strategy for client proposals
- Clearly articulate scopes of work and delivery models for Run-by-Rosie (RbR) programs, including responsibilities and success metrics
- Participate in kickoff and planning discussions for complex, longer-term programs to ensure smooth transitions from pitch to execution
- Ensure alignment and adherence to WRR workflows and processes
Coordinate Internal Handoffs and Program Readiness
- Ensure smooth transitions between Business Development, Client Experience, and Rosie Experience once deals are closed
- Work closely with Client Experience, Rosie Experience, and Operations to align on delivery models and resourcing for scoped programs
- Manage post-sale opportunity pipeline across Salesforce and SmartRecruiters to ensure accurate revenue forecasting and expedite the deal close
- Maintain weekly reporting spreadsheets and stay on top of changes in utilization and PO budget management.
- Manage SOW creation for Matched By engagements
- When needed, collaborate with Finance, Business Operations, and People Operations on onboarding, offboarding, billing, and SOW creation or modifications
Track Performance and Surface Insights
- Maintain and update Salesforce records to ensure opportunity accuracy and pipeline visibility
- Partner with the VP of Business Development to maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into team performance, win trends, and target account progress
- Identify patterns in wins and losses to inform strategic focus, campaign planning, and team performance optimization
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or client services—ideally within an agency, consultancy, or marketing services environment.
- Proven experience managing both inbound and outbound sales activities, including proposal development, lead qualification, and talent scoping.
- Skilled at managing full-cycle business development efforts, from outbound strategy through closing the deal.
- Experience working with mid-market and enterprise clients in marketing, advertising, or creative industries.
- Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to craft persuasive pitches, proposals, and client communications.
- Adept at juggling multiple opportunities, prioritizing effectively, and delivering under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a customer-first mindset and excellent relationship-building skills.
- Highly collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with Client Experience, Rosie Experience, Marketing, and Operations teams.
- Proficient in Salesforce or other CRM tools, and comfortable with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with talent sourcing and recruitment workflows is a plus.
- A proactive, adaptable self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and brings passion for creativity and innovation.
Compensation
Base salary range of $85,000 – $105,000 + commission
